Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Gemhog (gemhog.com). By using the service, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Service Description

Gemhog is an investment research tool that surfaces expert investment claims, theses, and insights extracted from financial podcasts. The service helps users discover ideas and access related financial data.

Gemhog is NOT investment advice, a trading platform, a financial advisor, a broker-dealer, or a regulated financial service. All content is for informational purposes only. See our Financial Disclaimer for details.

2. Account Registration

  • Access requires signing in with your email address via one-time password (OTP)
  • You must provide a valid email address
  • You are responsible for maintaining account security and all activity under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access: hello@gemhog.com
  • Accounts are personal and non-transferable

3. Free Trial

  • New accounts receive a 7-day free trial with access to full service features
  • No payment information is required to start a trial
  • At trial end, your account converts to a free tier with limited access — there is no automatic billing or charges
  • To access premium features after the trial, you must choose a paid subscription

4. Subscription and Payment

  • Premium subscriptions are available in Basic and Pro plans (see /settings/account/plans for current pricing and features)
  • Payments are processed by Polar.sh, our merchant of record. Your payment details are handled solely by Polar.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) unless cancelled
  • Prices are shown on the plans page and include applicable taxes

5. Cancellation and Refunds

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
  • Refunds: we offer refunds at our discretion. Contact hello@gemhog.com within 14 days of a charge for refund requests.

EU Statutory Rights

Consumers in the EU have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital services. Note: By accessing the service, you consent to immediate performance, which may affect withdrawal rights. A statutory withdrawal form will be available by June 2026. Until then, contact hello@gemhog.com.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Redistribute, resell, or sublicense content from Gemhog
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers) to access or extract content
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
  • Use the service for any illegal purpose
  • Impersonate other users or third parties
  • Interfere with service operation or security

7. Intellectual Property

  • Gemhog platform, design, and aggregated content structure are owned by Paul-Jasper Sahr
  • Podcast content (underlying source material) belongs to the respective podcast creators and owners. Gemhog surfaces and structures this content but does not claim ownership.
  • User data (your account information) belongs to you
  • Feedback and suggestions you provide may be used to improve the service without obligation

8. Limitation of Liability

  • All content on Gemhog is extracted from public podcast sources using AI. It may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated.
  • Gemhog is NOT responsible for any investment decisions you make based on content from the service
  • The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gemhog's liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim
  • We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages

9. Data Protection

Your privacy matters. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we collect and process your personal data. By using Gemhog, you acknowledge our privacy practices.

10. Changes to the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for material changes that affect paid subscribers.

11. Changes to These Terms

  • We may update these Terms from time to time
  • Material changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days in advance
  • Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms
  • If you disagree with updated Terms, you may cancel your subscription before the effective date

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. For consumer disputes, you may also have rights under the laws of your country of residence.

13. Dispute Resolution

First, please contact us at hello@gemhog.com — most issues can be resolved informally.

EU Online Dispute Resolution: The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr

Court jurisdiction: Oldenburg, Germany. EU consumers retain the right to bring claims before courts in their country of residence.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
